Tell Clippter which days are non-working for the whole workspace: national public holidays plus your own company days. Those dates affect time expectations, absence counting, and capacity.
Open Settings → Holidays. Owners and people with company settings access can manage this.
Before you start
- Set the company country under Settings → Company Details. Public holidays follow that country.
- Holidays do not add vacation days to someone’s balance. Vacation entitlement still comes from the person’s work contract / work profile.
Public holidays
Clippter loads the official public list for your company country (by year).
- Public rows are read-only.
- Switch Year on the Holidays page to see last year, this year, or next year.
- If the country is wrong, change it in Company Details, then come back to Holidays.
Custom holidays
Use custom rows for team days, office closures, bridge days, or other non-working dates that aren’t on the national list.
- Open Settings → Holidays.
- Choose the year.
- Click Add holiday.
- Set the date and name.
- Save changes as you edit (date and name update on the row).
Custom holidays live on your workspace and are visible to the team. You can remove a custom holiday from the row actions.
Public and custom dates appear in one combined list for that year.
What holidays change in the product
| Area | Effect |
|---|---|
| My Time | No tracking expectation on a holiday (same idea as a non-working day). |
| Vacation / absence | Holidays inside a vacation date range are not counted as vacation days. |
| Resourcing / capacity | Expected available hours skip public and custom holidays (and approved absence). |
| Workspace time rules | Holiday days are not treated like normal “open” contract days that must be logged. |
Common mistakes
- Leaving company country empty or wrong: the public calendar won’t match your team.
- Expecting holidays to increase vacation balance: they only skip days in ranges and tracking; balance is set on the contract / work profile.
- Adding a one-off personal day off as a custom holiday: that belongs under absence / vacation for one person, not a workspace holiday.
- Forgetting bridge days or company closures: capacity and missing-time logic stay wrong until you add custom dates.
