Invoice & costs

Finance Dashboard

See revenue, P&L, profitability, budgets, allocated costs, and VAT for a calendar year.

Where

Finance → Finance Dashboard (/finance/dashboard).

Figures and KPIs use the selected calendar year. Charts follow the Chart by control (monthly aggregates for revenue and profit; weekly bars can show bank cost by calendar week).

What the tabs are for

Exact tab names follow the product. Typical cuts:

FocusWhat you use it for
RevenueWhat you invoiced / recognized in the year
P&LRevenue, gross margin, EBITDA, net (see formulas below)
ProfitabilityDeeper margin views by client / project / period
BudgetsBudget vs reality
CostOperating cost overview from bank allocations
VATSales tax views vs cash VAT on the bank

If a year looks empty, import and allocate under Cost / Expenses. The UI will say so (Import CAMT, MT940, or CSV / allocate in Cost / Expenses).

P&L formulas (as shown in the product)

  • EBITDA = revenue − project expenses − overhead − payroll (bank)
  • Net = EBITDA − profit tax (corporate)

Operating cost metrics are on an EBITDA basis: they exclude taxes in the way the dashboard describes. Corporate/profit tax is applied below EBITDA. VAT remittance and payroll withholding are treated carefully so you do not double-count. Interest and depreciation are not tracked (0).

Cost overview on the dashboard

Overhead, Payroll, Project costs, and Income come from allocated bank transactions. Unallocated lines do not help you here. Jump back to Cost / Expenses to finish booking.

Things that trip people up

  • Changing year filter and comparing to a different report’s date window.
  • Expecting labor-from-time to replace bank payroll on EBITDA.
  • Ignoring External billing projects when reading revenue.
