Open revenue, profitability, budgets, time, and sales reports when you need the numbers behind Finance Dashboard and day-to-day screens.
Where
Knowledge → Reporting (Reporting in the Knowledge menu).
The hub lists many reports. Open one, set filters (status, period, client, person), then export when the page offers it.
Pick a report by question
| Question | Start with |
|---|---|
| What did we invoice this year / month? | Revenue-style reports; also Finance Dashboard |
| Are jobs profitable? | Profit by project / client / person / rate card |
| Is the team utilized? | Billable utilization by month or person (needs contracts + logged time) |
| What did we spend from the bank? | Cost-by-allocation style reports; booking happens in Cost / Expenses |
| What does the accountant need? | Ledger export: needs Ledger codes on Cost structure |
Capacity and utilization depend on work contracts, holidays, and how time was logged. See How time works.
Profit maths and bank vs labor: How Clippter calculates profit and costs.
Ledger export
Export allocated bank lines with ledger codes for your chart of accounts. If codes are empty on cost structure lines, the export is harder to map. Set codes under Settings → Company Finance → Cost structure: allocate under Cost / Expenses, then export from Reporting.
Things that trip people up
- Comparing two reports with different date filters or status filters.
- Reading utilization while contracts or holidays are wrong.
- Expecting External-billed projects to behave like Clippter-billed ones in revenue follow-up.
- Opening every report instead of starting from one question.
