Comment on deliverables with playback. Agency and client each have their own surface. Review hangs on assets that came from the quote when you won the deal properly.
Media types
| Media type on the deliverable | Review |
|---|---|
| Video (and Animation) | Video player (Bunny encode). Agency can set a custom thumbnail (current frame or upload) from the player. |
| Photo / Static ads / Video stills | Image player |
| Audio | Audio player (file on storage). Optional cover art; otherwise the agency logo is shown. |
Podcast CRM category and Audio on quotes are supported. Upload an audio deliverable the same way as video from the project asset list or asset detail. Clients can comment at a timecode, approve, and download when downloads are enabled — same as video review. With two or more ready versions, use Compare to play cuts side by side (synced playback), like video.
You need real assets first
Review sits on project assets. Those come from quote lines marked as assets, then carried in when you Mark deal as won.
If you opened a blank project and never defined assets on a quote, review has little to attach versions to. Prefer the CRM → quote → won path in Get started and Projects overview.
Two surfaces
| Who | Path |
|---|---|
| Agency | Projects → open project → review (/projects/[id]/review/...) |
| Client | Portal → company → project → Review |
Use the agency player while producing. Clients use portal review once the deliverable is shared with them. See Client portal.
Agency: prepare and share
- Confirm the project has the asset slots you sold.
- Upload or attach media on that asset (new version when you iterate). From the Assets list you can drop a file on a deliverable row to upload straight to that asset, or drop on empty space and pick the asset. Video and audio take one file per drop; video stills can take several images. In the asset side panel, Upload video is the main action; Remove video deletes the current version (including while it is still encoding) if you uploaded the wrong file. Optional External review link (collapsed) is only for Frame.io / Vimeo style URLs when you are not using Clippter review.
- Open review from the project to check playback and leave internal notes.
- Keep early versions Keep internal until you are ready.
- When the client should see it and comment, use Share with client / Send to client (wording follows the review UI). Work states then move through stages such as Waiting for client, Feedback received, and Approved.
Default how many feedback rounds you sell comes from Company workflow (Default Feedback Rounds). Assets also track an Edit round.
Client: leave feedback
- Sign in to the portal and open the project → Review.
- Play the version that was shared with them.
- Add comments (often pinned to a time or place on the frame).
- Approve when they are happy, if your process uses that control.
They cannot comment on versions that are still internal-only.
Guest share links can also offer Add your feedback… / Send feedback without a portal account. Use that for quick one-offs; use the portal when the client should keep coming back. See Media library and share links.
Agency: process feedback
- Read new notes in the review player.
- Mark as done (or Resolve) when a note is handled; leave open notes Mark as open when work remains.
- Prefer clearing open client notes before uploading the next version, so rounds stay clear.
- After changes, share the new version again when the client should review.
- Use Reopen for client if you need another look after an approval.
Across many jobs, open items also show under Projects → Feedback → Feedback to process. Open a row to jump into that review.
Things that trip people up
- Blank project, no quote assets: nowhere clean for versions.
- Client invited but media still Keep internal: “I see nothing”.
- Portal link before the item is client-visible.
- Mixing guest
/share/...feedback with portal review when you meant a full login. - Assuming agency preview equals what the client can see.
- Burning edit rounds without updating Edit round / sold rounds on the quote.
- Waiting for encoding to finish before removing a wrong upload — use Remove video / Delete version… as soon as the version exists.
