Use trading names when quotes or invoices go out under more than one name or logo. Off by default.
Where
Settings → Trading names (/settings/company/labels), under Organization details.
Workspace-wide branding (single logo / colours) stays under Company Branding. Legal identity stays under Company Details / Company Legal.
Turn it on
- Open Trading names.
- Enable Use multiple trading names. When enabled, pick a trading name on each quote. Projects and invoices inherit it.
Add a trading name
- Add trading name.
- Set Display name.
- Optional Logo (Upload logo), Brand colors (Primary, Secondary, Accent, Text).
- Optional Different legal profile when that trading name needs its own legal block.
- Optional Default for new quotes.
- Save changes.
Delete trading name removes that label from the picker (confirm before you remove one still used on open quotes).
Where you pick it
- Quote: Trading name
- Project: Trading name (used on quotes and invoices for this project; syncs to the linked quote when one is set)
- New invoice: Trading name
There is no separate “email trading name” switch; client-facing documents follow the quote / project / invoice pick.
Things that trip people up
- Multiple brands with the toggle still off: every doc uses the single Company Branding logo/name.
- Logo uploaded only on Branding, never on the trading name that clients see.
- Deleting a trading name that open quotes still reference.
- Expecting Workspace account name to change the legal sender on PDFs (it does not).
